Getting Around Muju
Muju Intercity Bus Terminal is the practical arrival point for travelers without a car, but the festival is not contained inside one neat square. Check the official venue map before leaving the terminal and allow time for local transport between the central festival area, accommodation and any ecology-program meeting point.
The official site lists parking information, local sightseeing loops and a Kakao T shuttle option. A same-night return may be possible for some visitors, but an overnight stay is the calmer choice if the firefly program is your main reason for coming. Night nature is lovely; sprinting for the last connection with a dark field behind you is less poetic.
Weather and Booking Check
Firefly observations depend on natural and weather conditions. The organizer states that schedules may be changed or cancelled because of weather or operational conditions, with updates posted on the festival website or sent to registered participants. Recheck your program on the day of travel, especially after rain.
During the ecology program, follow the guide’s rules on light, noise and photography. A phone flash is excellent at illuminating the person in front of you and equally excellent at ruining everyone else’s firefly moment.
